Award ceremony

“Special Education” Center of the Holy Diocese of Thebes and Levadia is participating for the last three years on European Union programs and particularly in European Voluntary Service. The Center hosts volunteers annually who offer their services by participating in all daily activities. Volunteers are open to new challenges and gain experiences to improve and promote diversity and equality. They improve their personal and professional skills.

The EVS lasts for ten months. The individual EVS is evaluated by volunteers and National Agency and a quality rate is assigned.

Our “Special Education” Centre was chosen as the best among the programs carried out in Greece in the youth field of the “Youth in Action” EU Program. The awarded EVS project started on September 3rd, 2013 till June 3rd, 2014. The awards ceremony took place in Brussels during the European Youth Week (EUROPEAN YOUTH WEEK, 5-8 May 2015) and our Center was represented by the Director of the Centre Mrs Alexandra Zantali and one of the volunteers Mrs. Magda Rutkowska-Łukasiewicz. The award was given by Ms. Joanna Nyman, President of the European Youth Forum.

During their stay our Director Mrs Zantali and Mrs Rutkowska-Łukasiewicz attended the works of the conference of European Youth Week and handed out leaflets about our “Special Education” Centre. Numerous of people visited our stand and photos were exposed from all 35 European awarded projects.
